DENTURE STABILIZATION

Mini-Implants for Denture Stabilization

Stop dealing with loose dentures forever. The Zest LOCATOR implant system stabilizes your existing lower denture in a single 2-hour visit.

A simple solution to a frustrating problem

Many people who wear dentures — especially lower dentures — struggle with the same frustrating problems: dentures that slip while eating, embarrassing wobbling during conversation, sore spots from constant movement, and the ongoing expense and mess of denture adhesives that never quite do the job.

Mini-implants change all of that. In a single appointment of about two hours, we can place two to six small titanium implants in your lower jaw that snap into your existing denture and hold it firmly in place. No more adhesives. No more slipping. No more compromise.

How mini-implants work

Mini-implants are smaller versions of standard dental implants — about half the diameter. Their smaller size means they can be placed in a less invasive procedure, with no incisions, no sutures, and no extended healing period required before the denture can be used.

Here's how the process works:

  1. Consultation and planning. We examine your existing denture and take X-rays or 3D images of your jaw to plan implant placement.
  2. The procedure. Under local anesthesia, we place two to six mini-implants directly through your gum tissue into your jawbone. No incisions are needed in most cases.
  3. Same-day attachment. We modify your existing denture (or sometimes provide a new one) to snap onto the implant heads. You leave the office with a stable, secure denture.
  4. Healing. The implants integrate with your jawbone over the following weeks, becoming permanently anchored.

The Zest LOCATOR system

Lakeview Family Dentistry uses Zest LOCATOR implants — one of the most widely used and clinically proven attachment systems for stabilizing dentures. The LOCATOR design provides a low, self-aligning connection that snaps your denture securely into place while remaining easy to remove for cleaning.

Is this right for you?

Mini-implants are ideal for patients who:

  • Wear a lower denture that slips, wobbles, or causes discomfort
  • Have adequate jawbone for implant placement (we'll evaluate this with X-rays)
  • Want to avoid the cost and complexity of full-sized implants
  • Want a same-day solution that doesn't require months of healing

They may not be ideal for patients with severe bone loss, uncontrolled diabetes, certain bleeding disorders, or recent radiation therapy to the jaw. We'll evaluate your specific situation during a free consultation.

Free consultations

We offer free consultations for patients interested in mini-implants. We'll examine your existing denture, evaluate your jawbone, discuss expectations, and provide a complete cost estimate — all with no obligation. Call (727) 863-9669 to schedule.
